The Main Branch Library is located in Houma, Louisiana on 151 Library Drive. Houma is located 58 miles southwest of New Orleans off Highway 90.
Children: popular nonfiction and fiction titles and a large picture book collection as well as subject material to support students’ homework needs. There is a special collection of Caldecott and Newbery books.
Young Adult: fiction and nonfiction.
Adult: popular fiction, periodicals and newspapers, large print materials, and a vertical file for Louisiana and local history. There is a collection of audio and video tapes. This branch has the largest reference collection in the system. Reference librarians are available to assist individuals conducting research.
This library offers computers with Internet access, the library catalog, and various on-line reference resources. The library computer has Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, and Microsoft Excel
On-line access is on a first come basis and is limited to 60 minutes per day. Printing cost is $.10 per page for black and white, and $.50 per page for color copies.
A photocopy machine makes black and white ($.10) and color copies ($.50). A fax machine is available at a cost of $1.00 per page.
